Upside Down

A stylised sports car drives up a half-circle ramp. Suction fans hold it in place until it hangs upside down at the top. Then it lets go, and you have a tank full of thrust to turn it and land softly on its wheels.

How it works

The model is a public demonstration by Tesla on 15 October 2026. A sports car prototype drove up a half-circle ramp until it stood upside down at the top; suction fans under the car pulled it onto the track. It then jumped off upside down, cold gas thrusters turned it in the air, and it landed softly on its wheels. Cold gas thrusters expel compressed air instead of burning anything. According to Tesla they produce several times the force of the tyres; this has not been independently verified.

The game only takes over this principle and calculates with its own values. On the ramp the suction of the fans only holds the car while it is fast enough: centrifugal force and suction together have to beat gravity, otherwise it slips off. At the top it lets go with the momentum of the ramp and keeps turning. Thrust slows the fall, turning sets the car upright, and both drain the same pressure tank. The landing is judged by attitude and touchdown speed. The physics runs in fixed steps of 1/120 of a second, so every round plays out the same regardless of the frame rate. The best round only lasts until you leave the page; nothing is stored or sent.

Not an official Tesla project; all values in the game are freely chosen. Inspired by the public presentation of 15 October 2026.
